It is with great excitement that we announce our collaboration with the W Venture growth program! Our CEO and founder, Laurel Anne Stark, is one of just sixteen outstanding female entrepreneurs in B.C. accepted into the program.

The W Venture Growth Program

The W Venture Growth program is a year-long program designed to provide mentorship, resources, and community support to those in the program. It is partially sponsored by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). The IRAP is a Canadian government program whose goal is to accelerate the growth of small businesses through innovation. Its support will help the W Venture Growth program achieve its goal:  to support female entrepreneurs and their ventures. Each business founder was selected for the W Venture Growth program for their potential for rapid growth and success.

Why it needs to exist

Female entrepreneurs have been working hard founding businesses at a rate 3x that of their male counterparts, but despite that, they are still underrepresented. Only 28% of the entrepreneurial population are female, and female-founded businesses are severely underfunded; only around 2.2% of venture dollars go to female-founded businesses. Without programs like this one, many vital female-led companies may be lost due to underfunding and underrepresentation.

What this means for us

This program is a game-changer! It aims to boost revenue for each business by at least 10 percent while securing essential funding to help entrepreneurs flourish as major industry players. Along with financial growth, the program offers an invaluable opportunity for female entrepreneurs to connect, inspire, and collaborate to create a rare atmosphere of innovation and support.

We are immensely grateful to the W Venture Growth program for this opportunity and look forward to embarking on this growth journey together over the next year.
