Our Remarkable team knows that communication isn’t one-size-fits-all. This is why we take a multidisciplinary approach to communication, ensuring that the people we serve receive content tailored to their needs. From digital to traditional forms of media, Remarkable Communications does it all.

Newsletters

One of our primary forms of communication is newsletters. These are typically sent via email, though some demographics and communities prefer printed and SMS / audio newsletters (learn more below). They aren’t just a means to share information about current events; they’re a celebration of achievements and community engagement! We create a few different types of newsletters for different purposes, distinguished by the timeframe.

Quarterly Newsletters

Quarterly newsletters cover events, projects, and initiatives taking place over a quarter. With brief and engaging summaries, we shine a spotlight on important topics and achievements from the time period. We often link to places to find more information, such as the client’s website or social media channels. This encourages community members to stay engaged and up-to-date with the website. Not only do we create and manage quarterly newsletters for our clients, but we also publish our own digital newsletter for Remarkable Communications!

Monthly Newsletters

Some of our clients prefer a monthly newsletter. These typically highlight— and consolidate— recent web and social media posts, offering a one-stop overview of the previous month and upcoming events. Like NIȽ TU,O’s newsletter, which has gained so much traction that we had to upgrade their email marketing account to accommodate the number of new subscribers. Monthly newsletters are a great way of keeping community members and subscribers informed at a more regular cadence than quarterly newsletters.

Weekly Newsletters

Some of our clients prefer a weekly newsletter to update their team or Board of Directors of what’s going on internally. These weekly updates offer staff members event notices, summarize social posts, promote internal contests, and offer insights about projects that have recently wrapped up, are currently underway, or are upcoming. Weekly newsletters do the important job of keeping all staff in the loop on all communications.

Printed Materials

Even in the digital age, digital media is not the ideal form of communication for every circumstance. Especially when aiming to reach community members, including people who may not be digitally inclined for various reasons, traditional print media can be a valuable communication tool.

Newsletters

We create printed versions of our newsletters for multiple clients. These newsletters are similar to our email newsletters but in an easy-to-read format so they are accessible to community members who do not use the internet regularly.

Community Flyers

Another form of traditional print media we love is flyers. We create, print, and distribute flyers around our clients’ communities to ensure that community members can learn about important events in their local areas with ease. Our monthly flyers for NIȽ TU,O are a great example of this. These flyers highlight events happening in the coming month.

Posters

Similar to our flyers, posters provide a way to share a lot of information in just one visually appealing image. Instead of giving an overview of a month like our NIȽ TU,O monthly flyers, our posters typically focus on one event. We make event posters for multiple clients, such as NIȽ TU,O and W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip).

Much like flyers, these posters are a great way to get information out to community members with no commitment (such as giving your email in exchange for signing up for a newsletter) on their end.

SMS (text messages)

SMS is a form of digital communication that allows us to get information out, typically internally, in a fast and simple way. Text messages have far higher open rates than emails and are easy to open on the go. There are a couple of ways that we use SMS to communicate.

SMS Newsletter Campaigns

Our SMS newsletter campaigns involve sending updates related to the weekly, monthly, or quarterly newsletters, including a URL for the newsletter. This is exemplified by the SMS newsletter campaign we do for NIȽ TU,O’s weekly newsletter. In this campaign, we send weekly updates to staff members, including a shortened URL for the newsletter. This URL can be tracked, allowing us to monitor click-through rates (CTR). This allows us to see the success of the campaign, and make any adjustments to future campaigns to improve deliverability

SMS updates to Chief and Council

We support our clients by sending quick updates to Chief and Council through SMS, such as Council meeting reminders. This ensures higher attendance and prevents Chief and Council members from accidentally missing important meetings.

Audio updates

Along with text updates in the form of SMS messages or newsletters, we’ve taken to sending audio updates on our clients’ behalf. These updates are often sent to Chief and Council or staff members through SMS and are a key way of briefly summarizing progress on current projects. Because they can be listened to at any time, SMS audio updates are a fantastic way of ensuring everyone is up to date on the details of current projects and initiatives with little effort on their end.

On-Site Support

In addition to copywriting and graphic design of newsletters, flyers and event posters, we offer on-site services! From content capture to organization and event planning to event management and support to ensure things go smoothly, our team does a lot of on-site work with great benefit.

Photography and Videography

The main way we offer on-site support is through content capture, like photography and videography. We often do photography for events such as open houses, ensuring that the entire event is captured and can be used for content such as Youtube channels, website content. blogs and social media posts. We also do video capture for big events, exemplified by our work with the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership council (WLC) on the SX̱OLE (Reef Net) Video Project. Some of our clients use this longer-format footage for internal purposes to share with community members and staff alike. Remember, these are just a few examples–there are many ways to repurpose the content captured on-site for years to come.

Meetings and interviews

Each project varies in length and scope. To maintain Remarkable quality, we book multiple meetings, including on-site meetings, to gain a full understanding of our client’s vision and needs.

We facilitate many interviews each month with Chief and Council members, staff and community members, and Board members to capture the essence of the good work being done in the organizations and communities that we serve. The interviews can be used in many ways, such as blog and social media posts, website copy for bios and introductions, and even for converting into summaries for AGM reports. There’s no shortage of ways these interviews can be used and repurposed in easily accessible ways for all demographics.

The Importance of a Communications Team

Having a dedicated communications team is valuable for many reasons. As a communications agency, we have a carefully curated team of skilled and experienced individuals who have mastered their craft— from graphic designers to copywriters to project managers who ensure each project stays on track and timely. Learn more about our team here.

Here are a few of the important things we do:

  • We boost community engagement for all age demographics (from youth to elders)
  • We capture important information and deliver it in an easily accessible way to community that may otherwise have been missed and never shared.
  • We discover and make quick changes to outdated information on websites, inaccessible layouts, or anything that isn’t optimized in the way you need it to be.

We take pride in our ability to accomplish these important goals. Most importantly, we take on the heavy lifting of communications efforts so that you and your team have the capacity to focus on the good work you’re doing.

Sharing Historic Moments

One of the most significant benefits of having us as your communication team is that we will help you share monumental successes with your entire community. Our work with the WLC on the SX̱OLE (Reef Net) Video Project epitomizes this. The ancient cultural practice of SX̱OLE was banned by the colonial government up until recent years when the WLC began engaging youth to help revitalize this technology. Our coverage of the 2024 reef net launch ensured that community members and settlers on W̱SÁNEĆ land learned about the impact of this tremendous project and the accomplishments the WLC has been making in relation to it.

Our Commitment to Truthful Storytelling and Building Trust

We are committed to sharing information with honesty and transparency. We listen to our clients and make sure that the information we put out is exactly what they want, how they want it. We understand that, as a settler-based organization, Indigenous communities may have concerns about us because of the long history of settlers twisting the truth. We address these concerns by seeking consent and verifying accuracy at each stage of our production process.
